technical draw: Hi, <The Tamale> Let me introduce myself. I am TD: MD, PhD, licensed electrician, phantom cab driver at the El-Al terminal at JFK, reseller of Boston Red Sox tickets, and now a panhandler. You don't happen to have an extra 20 you're not using?

Phony Benoni: Watching the stock market today reminded me of Bobby Layne, quarterback of the Detroit Lions back in the 1950s when they were frequently NFL champions. (I kid you not!) It was said that Bobby Layne never lost a game--he just ran out of time.

The stock market didn't go up today--it just ran out of time.

Nov-14-08  Jim Bartle: Wow, Bobby Layne! I remember reading "Paper Lion," where George Plimpton went to Lions training camp. Layne had been traded recently, but his ghost still hovered over the team.
