JOSEF KLINGER (born Jun-06-1967) Austria [what is this?] Josef Klinger was born on the 6th of June 1967. He became Austrian champion in 1985 and was awarded the IM title in 1985 and the GM title in 1988. He led the Austrian Olympiad teams in 1986 and 1988.

Jan-21-05    Daodejing: Josef Klinger was the most promising austrian chess player after the World War II. He was 3rd in the Junior World Championship in 1985. At the Chessolympiade in Dubai 1986 he was second at that the first board with 75% behind Kasparov (77,3%). Later he decided to leave chess because in chess there is too less pricemoney, so he became a professional poker player. And he earned a lot of money.
