Oct-24-06   Maatalkko: No kibitzing for Yrjola! How sad...

This guy's most notable results were beating Ulf 2-0 at the Fin-Swe team match of 1991, second place at Espoo zt 1989, shared first at the Troll Master's open of 1984, and a 5/7 showing at the European Team Championship of 1999. Like many Finnish masters he seems to have played a number of unusual and interesting games.

Oct-24-06   FHBradley: He has been GM since 1990, so the bio needs a bit of an 'update'.

Dim Weasel: <FHBradley> Yes, and I think he has won two Finnish Championships.

Oct-24-06   azaris: I've seen his book on the QID. It's an amazing tome recommended by many GMs. It had the effect on me that I vowed never to play the QID from either side.
Oct-24-06   dbquintillion: Alright, I've been biting my tongue on this for months, but can somebody explain to me BIDMONFA for cryin' out loud?! Why are you everywhere? Why do you link to your site which usually links back here?! Why?! Why?!
Oct-24-06   pilobolus: Yrjola draw with Tal 2x!

Sorry to say, but 'I have nothing to declare.'

SwitchingQuylthulg: One of his nicest and most entertaining games is this: J Yrjola vs Hebden, 1983

A long and highly complex tactical battle (during which, admittedly, a few errors are committed by both sides´- then again, in such a crazy game this can hardly be avoided), with Yrjölä coming out on top in the end.
