Karl (Carl) Oscar Ahues was born on the 26th of December 1883 in Bremen, Germany. Awarded the IM title in 1950 he was German Champion in 1929. His son, Herbert (born in 1922) became a Grandmaster for Chess Compositions. Karl passed away in Hamburg in 1968.
