MARTA MICHNA
(born Jan-30-1978) Poland (citizen of Germany)

WGM Marta Michna (nee Marta Zielinska) was born in Glagow, Poland near Wroclaw. Her father taught her the rules of chess at the age of 8. She's married to FIDE master Christian Michna since 2005 and moved to Germany one year later. Marta has three children - Masza, Mateusz and Milosz.

Michna won the U18 (Girls) European Youth Championship in 1995 and the U18 (Girls) World Youth Championship in 1996. She was awarded the WGM title in 1999.
