Dec-19-06   2021: It's actually Paul Saint-Amand Jr.
Jan-29-08   Llera: I was going to ask if Paul Saint-Amand Jr was related to Saint-Amant but now I realise it's a different surname! It's finished in "d", not in "t". Where is this guy from? Can please anyone write a short biography of him?
Apr-04-09   jul059: Judging by his name and who he played against, he's from the province of Quebec in Canada (where I live). He most likely speaks french. I don't know him though.

SetNoEscapeOn: In Chessmaster (10th edition and later) a lecture by Josh Waitzkin is included featuring a game he played with Saint-Amand (in the "First Games" section). The theme is simplification into a simpler position when you are up material. Unfortunately, chessgames.com does not appear to have that game; however the following game seems to have proceeded along similar lines:

P Saint-Amand vs Waitzkin, 1997

Like all of the work Watizkin did for chessmaster, the lecture is outstanding.

He also goes out of his way to say how brilliant of a man Staint-Amand is. Apparently the guy is a really interesting character and the two of them are/were good friends.

SetNoEscapeOn: I'm not completely sure, but now that I've seen it the game I mention above might be covered in Josh's endgame course.
