ahmadov: Congratulations to Rauf for his excellent performance at the European Individual Championships in Turkey. He finishes this tournament ahead of his stronger countrymen like Vugar and Gadir.

Resignation Trap: I really don't think that they let Rauf Mamedov play in the 2nd European Women's Championship in 2001, as he didn't meet the required set of criteria to participate.

The following games were played by Rena Graf (also known as Rena Mamedova and as Rena Graf-Mamedova), formerly of Uzbekistan, now of Germany.

R Mamedov vs B Kadziolka, 2001
I Tallova vs R Mamedov, 2001
R Mamedov vs T Stepovaia-Dianchenko, 2001
A Stefanova vs R Mamedov, 2001
R Mamedov vs S Prudnikova, 2001
R Mamedov vs C A Foisor, 2001
Kosteniuk vs R Mamedov, 2001
D Ciuksyte vs R Mamedov, 2001
R Mamedov vs E Hasanova, 2001
M Medic vs R Mamedov, 2001
and R Mamedov vs T Khmiadashvili, 2001

Strongest Force: Raufy is a real nice guy! He doesn't know english fully but he's learning fast. Try talking to him sometime. He has at least 6 handles on the ICC & no less an authority than Nakamura has called Rauf: "the new Roman". Trying to fill GM Roman's shoes is not easy but Generallissimus (one of Rauf's favorite handles) is often up to the challenge.
