An IM, he captained Canada at the 1994 & 2006 Olympiads & played 4th board in the 1996 Olympiad. He won & tied 1st in 1995 in the Canadian Championship & Open (tied with Kevin Spraggett in the latter) tournaments, respectively. He also tied 1st-3rd in the 2007 Canadian Closed, won the 1991 Canadian Junior Championship & tied 1st-2nd in the latter tournament 2 years later.
