Jul-28-06  cannibal: Just read that he already died last Sunday. Another sad loss for the chess world. I think almost every German chess player has learnt from at least one of his books. R.I.P.

  brankat: Would be 85 today.

Happy Birthday anyhow!

<I think almost every German chess player has learnt from at least one of his books.>

Not just a German chess player.

Even more importantly, let's not forget his 30 years of editorial work with the "Deutsche Schachzeitung", the World's oldest surviving chess magazine!

Sasportas: 2 weeks ago I submitted a fine and theoretically interesting Teschner game to chessgames.com: Barendregt - Teschner 0:1, European team championship Hamburg 1965 (Ruy Lopez, exchange variation). It should really be included in the game collection!
