  biglo: Born 14 September 1969 near Great Novgorod, USSR. He attended a chess school run by GM Panchenko. In 1990 he was the coach for the Russian team in the Soviet youth team championship (players included Kramnik). In 1989 he became an IM and in 1992 he became a GM.

In 1992/93, Hastings +7-1=3, 1st place

In the 1994 Russian team championship, he achieved 1st place in the Kadyr team playing on the 1st board.
