Sep-06-09  jon01: Sergei Yudin's ELO is 2599, he is probably the highest rated IM in the world.
Sep-06-09  DCP23: <jon01> There're more than a dozen IMs in Russia now rated 2500+, and 5 of them are 2550+. At 2599 Yudin is indeed the highest rated IM right now. There was a time when Nepo was rated in the 2640s and still an IM, which might have been an all-time record.
Jun-09-12  SimonWebbsTiger: Very little about today's winner in the Saturday puzzle. (His win versus Loskutov.)

Quite staggering that Kramnik was a 2500+ FM (!) when he became a household name in 1992 iirc, playing for the Russian Olympiad side.

Jun-10-12  LoveThatJoker: Happy Birthday, GM Yudin!
