May-14-07   thegoldenband: I was thrilled to learn that Wagman participated in last year's 16th World Senior Championship, and did quite well -- at the ripe old age of 87! Having read Andy Soltis's feature on Wagman in "Karl Marx Plays Chess", it was a wonderful surprise to learn that he's still with us (and I hope that's still the case as of this writing).

May-11-09   thegoldenband: Thanks for letting us know about Wagman's passing, kramputz. From all reports, he was a good guy with a good heart, and remained a strong player essentially right up until the end. Would that all of us were so long-lived, so good at chess, and so well-liked. RIP.
