Benzol: As he died in 1977 the date of the last game here is incorrect or it was played by someone else.
Sep-24-09   returnoftheking: Shared first in the Russian Ch 1960 with GM Taimanov, shared first in the USSR semis 1956 with Nezhmetdinov and Boleslavsky ahead of f.e. Kholmov, Suetin Simagin. His career was probably cut short when his title was taken away after the famous incident with Kholmov and Nezhmetdinov. All were punished for "not sportmanslike behavior" - Tarasov the most.
