| blingice: Has anyone heard Chingy's "Balla, Baby" or 2Pac's "Still Ballin"? |

 |
| Ziggurat: von Balla used to participate in many of the same tournaments as Breyer, and played some nice games with him. Although Breyer was stronger on the whole, von Balla was not so far behind him which makes their games interesting. |

| Rocafella: <blingice> I've heard both... Balla baby is probably better |
 |

| blingice: Duuuuude, "Still Ballin'" is the much better beat to crank up and drive down the street with, in my opinion, because you don't look like a tool/poser when you do crank it up. It shows that you've actually listened to enough rap to have listened to one of the best rappers there was (although he's rather old). Not that "Balla, Baby" doensn't have it's purpose: it's the kind of rap that you would listen to if you're playing poker or chess. Then, there's stuff like Jurassic 5, where you just want to nod your head to the beat and rhythm of the lyrics: Yeah, cause of tricks of the trade, some are virtual slaves
A smirk will get raised once the pen hits the page
While your thoughts of the stage and perhaps getting paid
Relax in the shade, time passing in days
I'm searching for ways to avoid the charade
Cause when voices are laid, choices are made
Be not afraid, people plastic on Earth
Verbal blast bout to burst, 5 Jurass finish first
Mark 7even from Jurassic 5 in "Jurass Finish First"
For real, just read that in iambic pentameter, and you'll get it :) |

| Rocafella: <blingice> Are you high? |
 |
| Aug-31-06 |
| blingice: HAHAHAHA!!! |
 |
| Aug-31-06 |
| Rocafella: If so, give me some! |
 |
| Aug-31-06 |
| blingice: Dude, if I give you the impression that I'm high, it might be the fact that I stayed up until 4 AM and am listening to rap right now. Soooo... |
 |
| Aug-31-06 |
| Rocafella: Does anyone in here know CPR, I think we've lost him! |
 |
| Aug-31-06 |
| Rocafella: Im just joking of course <blingice>. I'm as big a fan of rap as you are, especially 2pac, Dre, Snoop etc ;). I really like 'Loyal to the game', what do you think of it? |
 |
| Aug-31-06 |
| blingice: Eh, I haven't heard that album personally, although I think it's interesting that they would have such new artists making tracks with a dead man... Yeah, I'm more into old skool stuff now like Tech N9ne and Jurassic 5, rather than the people that can't rap...very well...at all...like 50 Cent (I mean, yeah, he makes good songs and stuff with G-Unit, but I've heard him live and it's worse than Fergie from Black Eyed Peas live...) You know, minimal background music, more into the rhymes, stuff like that. |
 |
| Aug-31-06 |
| Rocafella: <blingice> Damn, Fergie is such a bad singer, you're right! Loyal to the game is great I recommend it!! Personally, I like Jay-Z out of all the rappers. The new stuff from new rappers is mostly based on melody rather than good lyrics, and that's what sucks! |
 |

| blingice: <Rocafella: The new stuff from new rappers is mostly based on melody rather than good lyrics, and that's what sucks!> Word. Well, that's all of what they play on the radio at least. People like The Roots are still rhyme/rhythm based. |

| Rocafella: <blingice> Yeh, what do you think of UK rap? Btw, love your profile ;D |
 |
| Sep-01-06 |
| blingice: Hmm, I actually haven't heard any of it. Isn't Dizzee Rascal from the UK? And then there's another guy, who my friend was listening to, where it's a black and white picture of the guy (on his website) except he has a scarf (or hankerchief, or whatever gangsters call it) across his face that's the British flag. I don't remember his name though. What rappers from the UK do you recommend? |
 |
| Sep-01-06 |
| Rocafella: <blingbling> Hmm, not sure who your talking about, to be honest there's hundreds (no exaggeration) of UK rappers. I'd say 98% are all wannabe's. Roll Deeep are good, Kano, Dizzee Rascal and Wiley. I'd recommend all of these. I think there's a few more but I can't think right now;) |
 |
| Sep-01-06 |
| blingice: Yea, check out the rap group Atmosphere. They're from Minnesota, which makes them about as credible as rappers in the US as if they're from the UK. Either way, they're still good. |
 |
| Sep-01-06 |
| Rocafella: <blingice> Thanks for the heads up, I'll check em out bro ;) |
 |
| Sep-02-06 |
| Rocafella: <blingice> P diddy-come to me |
 |
| Sep-02-06 |
| blingice: I got some recommendations:
"Fireman" and "This is Tha Carter" by Lil' Wayne, "Let Me In" and "Stunt 101" by G-Unit, "On Fire" and "Work Magic" and "I'm So Fly" by Lloyd Banks, and "What's Golden?" by Jurassic 5. That P. Diddy song was alright. Typically, when it's a man and a woman in a song, either the woman (who is ALWAYS the singer) ruins a good rap by the man, or the man's crude rapping ruins it for the woman's good singing. That song would be much better if they weren't together. :D |
 |
| Sep-02-06 |
| Rocafella: I'll have a listen to Lil'Wayne, but I have G-Unit, Lloyd Banks and Young Bucks albums. All great! Yeh she is hot though, lead singer of PCD ;) But I agree they clash! |
 |
| Aug-31-07 |
| E M Osbourn: The overwhelming majority of rap sucks... a load of jumped up wideboys pretending to be hard. |
 |
| Nov-28-07 |
| xeroxmachine: I love rap unless the lyrics are about drugs, guns, sex, whores, cars, violence and so on... |
