ChessBookie Game

Glorious winner of one third of the 7th Annual Caissar Award for Outstanding Achievements in the Field of Username Selection (and that's official...)

"My cousin Sammy told me a true slugger - a Szeged slugger - will always swing for the fences, and that is exactly what I am going to do. I am going to knock Kramnik out of the room with my 'home run punch.' My trainer and I have been developing it in camp. I just hope Vladimir's head is screwed on tight or it may end up on top of the demonstration board!" Game Collection: Lékó - Fireless and Boring?

SwitchingQuylthulg: <kudubux> I'm not sure, I don't play it that way :) I suppose it helps cut some of Black's more aggressive options (compared to <1. b3>), but it also cuts some of White's more aggressive options by blocking f4, frequently a good move. Additionally, you'll have

dakgootje: I'm not sure skirts exist in Finland, considering it's average day-time summer temperature is only several degrees above absolute zero.

The combination of getting high under the weather is interesting though :)

dakgootje: <Then the name still remains a mystery>

Hardly.

You should take the first letter, skip 3, take the next, skip 3 und so weiter.

Her real name is Jiiee.

brankat: Sounds Finish, which makes sense. Switch probably has the name on file somewhere :-)

  SwitchingQuylthulg: <brankat> <dakkie> <everybody> Sorry for not spamming ;-)

<Jiiee> Excellent detective work!

It probably just means her initials are J.E. though. What those stand for, I wouldn't dare guess :)

brankat: Spamming is the name of the game around here. If we were to post only "meaningful" stuff, CG would go bankrupt in short order :-)

SwitchingQuylthulg: Everything we post is meaningful. Some bits, like "squab", are even multiply meaningful :)

SwitchingQuylthulg: But you're right, I really need to spam myself back into form. Not posting rather takes the fun out of kibitzing :)

Applying <dak>'s analysis to "jessicafischerqueen" but starting two letters later we get <SACQN>, which could be another clue - unfortunately, I think it's most likely just a sly reference to Alekhine vs Von Feldt, 1916 and her role as <Mrs. Alekhine> :)

Alternatively, it could have something to do with A Gerschenkron vs Fischer, 1935, which is very similar to the game above...

jessicafischerqueen: <Switch> aha yes I have some <Alekhine> writers who indeed think <"Feldt"> was in fact <Fischer>, who went on to become a notorious Nazi of some kind? Or a perhaps a Mormon. I read about this in January, so I'll have to check which book suggests this. I think it might be <Skinner and Verhoeven>. I will check today.

  brankat: <jessica>???

Although "simpler" doesn't necessarily means "better", it still may be more practical to bypass (avoid) Feldt(s), Nazis, Mormons, Skinners & Verhoevens if You just let us know what Your first name is.

Or, at least the initial. We can take it from there. Who knows, it may even be possible to prevail upon the Bookie to organize a betting contest of sorts :-)

brankat: <jessicafischerqueen> You are right, of course. Even aside from "Tim's arrangements", there should always be an aura of mystery around a woman :-)

Was busy throwing away 138kg of wood - so I forgot to bet this round. Will have plenty of time tomorrow - but it's a rest-day then. As per usual when I've got time to spare. :S

ahmadov: The Finnish lose when they perform a Swedish song, while the Swedish themselves win the entire song contest. This smells some conspritacy by the Swedish against the Finnish. :-)
