Hi, my name is Greg & I'm 59 years young. I have been playing chess for over 50 of those 59 years. Between the years 1968 & 1990 I was quite active. I was a member of the USCF, CCA(Cleveland Chess Association),Parma Chess Club(south of Cleveland) & captained the Gilmour Academy(Gates Mills,Ohio) chess team 1970 till 1972 when I graduated. My rating during those years(1968-90) fluctuated between 1750 to 1950. Played in the State Championship (OCC-Ohio Chess Congress) a couple of times in the 1980's with modest results (+1,-3,=2 first time & +2,-2,=2 second time). I might have done better but my style is aggressive & it often cost me points in tournaments. Since 1990 I stopped playing competitive chess & still enjoy playing but only casually. My strong suit has always been the analyses of games. I have always had a passion for the game & still do. ______________________________________________

As the ply gets deeper it decides that 17...Ba6 is better and it looks like we may be able to keep the extra pawn in either line.

Enjoy!

The latest analysis replaces 18...Qxd7(above live) with <18...exd4> which doesn't turn out too badly for black.

WinKing: <RV>'s latest analysis(continued) in the <16...Rc6> line.

A follow up to my previous post shows shows <RV>'s engine(Rybka 4.1) has determined that <15.Bf5 cxd4 16.exd4 <Rc6> <17.Bxd7>> is better for white than <15.Bf5 cxd4 16.exd4 <Rc6> 17.Bxf6 Rxf6 <18.Bxd7>> from my previous post. Notice how white now plays Bxd7 one move sooner. Ahhh the trickery of trying to get the most optimal move order possible. The engine picked up on the fact that <15.Bf5 cxd4 16.exd4 <Rc6> 17.Bxf6 Rxf6 18.Bxd7 <exd4>> gave black a bit better game & tweaked the move order a bit so we end up with:

<15.Bf5 cxd4 16.exd4 <Rc6> <17.Bxd7> Qxd7 18.Bxf6>

White may have a slight advantage. Every thing seems to be centering around an e6 pawn push which is not yet possible as the square is defended four times by black and only attacked three times by white.

Will keep the team updated if there are any further findings in these lines.
