Zahir Ahmadov, Baku, Azerbaijan. I used to spend more time on this web site some years ago mostly because I found cg.com as a great resource from where I could learn a lot of chess. Then, this web site became part of my life as I found very good friends through it (the title of the forum is no co-incidence). It has always been very nice to communicate with these friends, among whom I would name <Switch>, <brankat>, <kuda>, <tarlan>, <lostemperor> etc. I think virtual friendship is missing something important in human communication, which encouraged me to meet some of these people in real life, both in Azerbaijan and overseas.

Currently, I am having time constraints to spend time on this forum, but my recent extension of premium membership encourages me to take measures to be present here more frequently. Lets see if this will be possible in the near future.

ahmadov: Yes, that is true. Sometimes I lose because I am too optimistic about positions that look tempting, but do not give much play, the one we have just discussed.

ahmadov: Come on guys, everybody has ups and downs in his/her chess career. Do not forget that Ivanchuk won against Carlsen when everybody was thinking that he failed completely in this tournament. I am sure Radja will come back again soon.

ahmadov: Indeed, it is difficult to guess what was my reason to play certain moves then. I really hope that I got better after using Guess the Move feature of this web site intensively for the last half year or so. I think I would not play some of the moves on this game if I am in the same ...

  SwitchingQuylthulg: <ahmadov> I'm still staying incognito! :)

There's no need to offer a draw in R+B vs. R - as I said, the defender's task isn't easy :) Of course, in CC it's quite likely he can hold.

ahmadov: <SwitchingQuylthulg: <ahmadov> I'm still staying incognito! :)> That is true. I could not find more information about you on the net even though you are one of the strongest players in your country. That must be bad for Finland if they do not know their hero in the chess world.

By the way, what is CC?

ahmadov: Oh, I see, it is Correspondence chess.
But anyway, I have already offered a draw and will challenge the man to a different game.

I'm not one of the strongest players in Finland, any more than you're one of the strongest players in Azerbaijan :)

<brankat> was joking when he "identified" me... he always is.

I think I am one of the strongest players in Azerbaijan indeed given that Azerbaijan has only some thousands of chess players but the entire population is 9 million :-)

dakgootje: AHA! So SQ actually <is> one of the leading Finnish chess players!

Of course that's no wonder, considering 5.25 million inhabitants -on a total of 5.4 million- are actually reindeer.

Which means we've uncovered SQ! He is the reindeerman! Dimitri Reinderman

ahmadov: <dakgootje> Very good. That is great demonstration of your great logic ;-)

However, I thought Switch is a human being, isn't he? :-)

And there are some even older puzzles lying forgotten in the attics of this forum... like an old boot who was summarily given the boot after years of loyal, unassuming service.

ahmadov: <brankat: Or, more precisely, why I come here whenever I'm in a bad mood :-)> Is this not like "a bottle is half full" vs "a bottle is half empty" :-)

You must be a genius to come here and spend your time on Switch's forum when you are in mad mood. People usually use their time for some light things to get rid of bad mood, but you come to solve puzzles/understand Switch's English/guess his personality etc. to suppress your depression :-)
