**CURRENT DRAFT UNDER INSPECTION FOR PROMOTION: Game Collection: WCC: Botvinnik-Bronstein 1951

**DUE DATE- THE DAY I WILL SUBMIT THIS DRAFT TO <Daniel>: Submission Day <<<SUNDAY APRIL 6>>>

########################

<Greetings colleagues!>

Daniel Freeman has given us his blessing to edit the History of the World Chess Championship.

Our task is twofold: to fact check each introduction and source the information to reliable books, journals, or newspapers. At present, many of the intros are either imprecisely sourced, or sourced to dubious websites.

Second, we should edit the intros so that any new material we discover should be added to the existing text, which is often skimpy and usually contains a good number of factual errors.

<Here is our <<<watchword>>>: all facts in the intros must be sourced to reliable primary material>

###############################

STANDARDIZATION TEMPLATE

<1. How did the Match come about?

2. What were the conditions for the Match? The stakes, the number of games, the rules, and this could also include information about the backers, the venue, the referees, and so on.

3. What happened at the Match?>

It was brought back to life after WWI in 1923 under the name <Neue Wiener Schach-Zeitung> but the old name was reinstated already in 1924, when it was called <Wiener Schach-Zeitung>. So <Neue Wiener Schach-Zeitung> only if the 1923 issues are quoted.

<SITE FIELD> Country Code guidelines, courtesy of User: Paint My Dragon:

The normally accepted convention is, I believe, to refer to the URS (The Soviet Union) from 22 Dec 1922 until 26 Dec 1991, when the Union collapsed, and thereafter, to use RUS (Russia), or one of the other Baltic states that formerly comprised the Union. Unfortunately, the attribution of three-letter country codes to the Balkan states over a range of dates spanning the nineties and noughties, is a much more complicated process, and more than I could begin to explain on these pages, so pray hard that you don't have to report on any matches from what used to constitute Yugoslavia!

28 ... c5-c4! locks the White a2-bishop right out of the game.

Note that White has to resign in the final position because he is effectively down by a piece due to his <LOCKED OUT> b1-bishop.

MarkFinan: Hey <JFK>, hope you're well.. I sent you a penguin earlier..(?).

Do you still not fancy a game on FICS?

It's just i feel i know you quite well now, so i'd like a game with you, then you can tell me here where i went wrong/right, and we could analyse the game here too..

I don't play blitz against other humans for fear of my ego being crushed... And i do have an ego lol... I use my pet shredder if i want to get annihilated without my massive ego being wounded ;)..

All the best love..

PinnedPiece: <JFQ> Don't know if you saw these listed on Chessbase. Someone uploaded to Youtube, a pair of videos where Karpov analyzes Fischer-Spassky 1972 Game 3 (after the forfeit), and other comments:

jessicafischerqueen: <PinnedPiece> Good to see you again! Yes thank you for the heads up-

But in fact it was me who uploaded those two videos about <Karpov on Fischer> onto my "chessdocumentary" channel.

<Chessdocumentary> is my second youtube channel, which shows chess history videos that I didn't make myself: http://www.youtube.com/user/chessdo...

Here's the latest video I uploaded on that channel, a 10 minute film about the Fischer-Spassky rematch by <Cathy Forbes>: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FOwj...

In addition, this is my third youtube chess channel, which shows short film clips of past masters in action, including rare live footage of players such as <Efim Bogoljubow>, <Alekhine>, <Rubinstein>, and so on: http://www.youtube.com/user/alecksa...

Mar-24-12  frogbert: <I don't play blitz against other humans for fear of my ego being crushed...>

markfinan, then let's play an unrated 15 0 game. i just created a new account there as i couldn't figure out exactly which mail address the really old one (created in pre-fics times i think) was registered on - so i wasn't able to recover my old password (or get a new one without talking to the admins).

it was easier to make a new one. frogbert there too. i play enough rated games (still) to give you a reasonable estimate of where you currently "are", i think. you can hardly dislike losing much more than my 8, soon 9 year old, so i think we'll manage. if you're better than me, then that certainly doesn't create any "ego problems" for me. :o)
