| Jun-04-12 | | NakoSonorense: <meloncio> Good for a laugh. I particularly liked Arsene Wenger's celebration. By the way, Mexico beat Brazil in a friendly yesterday. Not too shabby! |

 | | WannaBe: Brazil Beat US, Mexico beat Brazil, so it just means US will beat Mexico. =)) |
| Jun-04-12 | | Jim Bartle: Who's playing on the Brazil team now on tour? I think it's mainly players from the Brazilian league, without the guys playing in the big leagues in Europe. In any case, there were 70,000 to see them play in New Jersey, very impressive for the US. |

| Jun-09-12 | | NakoSonorense: Denmark winning against the Netherlands was a bit unexpected. Sweet revenge for their loss in the 2010 World Cup. Spain vs Italy will be good. I favor Spain 2-0, although I get the feeling that their strikers aren't very strong. Llorente is in good form, but Torres has been abysmal and Pedro didn't necessarily shine last season. Too bad David Villa didn't recover soon enough. Their midfielders, on the other hand... damn! |
| Jun-09-12 | | Jim Bartle: Right, from what I know that's not a terribly reliable group of strikers, particularly Torres. But hasn't Spain nationalized Messi yet? |
Jun-10-12
 | | moronovich: Good luck tonight !
<Jim Bartle> I am afraid you are right about the strikers situation on the spanish team, but often some magic happens when a player puts on his national shirt.. Pedro is my best shot, but I have great confidence in the judgement of Del Bosque ;) I once got the autograph of F.Torres and it stroke me, how almost thin and fragile he appeared. |

 | | meloncio: <Nako><Llorente-Torres-Pedro> Hey, don't forget Alvaro Negredo! Seriously, calling Torres coach Del Bosque paid a forced tax to Madrid media, always screaming out loudly for their boys. It's an insult to football fans/scholars, especially if you have a good replacement with Roberto Soldado, the Valencia forward who scored a lot of goals this season. Anyway I have only eyes for Jesús Navas, the Sevilla jewel, but I'm afraid he won't play today, maybe a few minutes at the end. <Spain-Italy 2-0> Italy has always been our "bestia negra", so I'm not so optimistic. They know well how to play important games, you know what I mean... <Jim><...that's not a terribly reliable group of strikers> I'm sure Spain will play with just one forward, so no matter if you have a good bunch of attack midfielders. On the contrary I think defense is the weaker part of the team. Puyol is very important and we'll miss him. <But hasn't Spain nationalized Messi yet?> We want to do it but he doesn't want, unluckily his opinion counts :) |

 | | meloncio: <moronovich> Congratulations for such a fine victory last evening! Talking about yesterday Portugal had bad luck, they didn't deserve to lose and could draw till the very end. And how good Nani is! I like this player a lot. The only good news is that German team does not seem as terrible as some people said. |

 | | moronovich: <meloncio: <moronovich> Congratulations for such a fine victory last evening!> Thank you !
I am afraid you are right about <Puyol> and sorry for forgetting Negredo, but I am afraid that Del Bosque will prefer Torres (and that Fenando still is a way from his old form),but some answers will show up in a short time.At least my wife and I will cheer for the spanish team. 50 minutes to kickoff, while Nadal is completely crushing Djokovic.A good sign !? :) Vamos Ramos ! |
| Jun-10-12 | | NakoSonorense: <meloncio> <Hey, don't forget Alvaro Negredo!> Sorry! I didn't see the full squad until this morning. I only knew that Torres had been called, even though he went unnoticed in Chelsea this season. I also think that Soldado would have been a much better choice, but maybe Del Bosque feels that a transfer that cost £50 million is just too hard to ignore. 0-0 at halftime. While Italy have had the best chances, Spain have more possession, although not overwhelmingly so. I'm still waiting for the Barsa-like dominance Spain showed in (most of the games of) the 2010 World Cup. Croatia and Ireland should be easier preys than Italy, so maybe Spain won't go all out on the Azzurri tonight. |
Jun-10-12
 | | Open Defence: a bit comical thus far... Spain might rue the missed opportunities... |
| Jun-10-12 | | Jim Bartle: OK, how can Torres (fresh, not even tired) break in on goal all alone and not even get off a shot? The goalie took it away from him with his feet! I see Navas is playing, though. |
| Jun-10-12 | | NakoSonorense: <But hasn't Spain nationalized Messi yet> He was too busy scoring a hat-trick against Brazil yesterday. The third goal was a gem. - Torres had three clear chances and he missed them all. He deserves all the criticism he has been getting. |
Jun-10-12
 | | meloncio: 1-1, not bad if you think we could even lose, Italy played better than we expected. <Nako><Torres had three clear chances and he missed them all> Don't worry, it's a lost battle. Torres will play again next match because "he's a very important player for us" (Del Bosque dixit). Negredo, Soldado, even myself would have scored some of the chances he had. |
| Jun-10-12 | | falso contacto: Didn't saw the match, but I'm glad he did. Good result. Both sides have chances, still. Now it's time to see my club getting back to Primera División. |
Jun-10-12
 | | Open Defence: did the ball just bounce of the irish keepers head into the goal ?? |
| Jun-10-12 | | falso contacto: ganamos muchachos, estamos a un paso del ascenso. qué manera de sufrir. |
Jun-11-12
 | | meloncio: <Open Defence> Yes, a case of very bad luck. |

 | | harrylime: France 1 v 1 Angleterre |
Jun-12-12
 | | meloncio: <harry> Are you English? I think so. I always root for England except when playing against Spain, of course. I am a bit old so I still remember Bobby Charlton, Bobby Moore, Gordon Banks, Alan Ball and some others when I was a teenager. <France 1 v 1 Angleterre> Hey, that's French. Better <Francia 1 v Inglaterra>, that's Spanish! :) |
Jun-12-12
 | | harrylime: A Spain v England final would be cool! Ok Espana v Inglaterra ! Early days.. |
| Jun-12-12 | | NakoSonorense: I would rather see Deutschland vs Spanien, my two favorite national teams from Europe. |
Jun-12-12
 | | harrylime: Thanks <Nako> for that lol And you could be right.
Tho I've not looked at how the seedings pan out after the groups.. |
