I should have taken that darn knight on move 28 but I thought I had it trapped. I resigned because mate is unavoidable.

waustad: I know what you mean about Robert Merrill. WOSU did an interview with Tucker and Merrill shortly before the death of Richard Tucker that is hilarious. I probably have it on an old video tape that doesn't play anymore, like the Bjorling show that they did one afternoon. I taped radio on slow video tape because it lasted longer in those days.

Leonard Warren is another voice from then to remember.

technical draw: I almost won $2,500 again with my secret formula. I picked 039 and 032 came out. According to my calculations I should hit every 64 games (4ˆ3) as opposed to the standard 10ˆ3. Right now I'm at game 45 so I'm getting close.

technical draw: Correction: Since I don't consider outcomes with repeated numbers the standard I'm up against is 10x9x8 instead of 10ˆ3....

waustad: Yeah, I've noticed that about youtube comments too. The only reason I can think of for that awful article he wrote is that Wagner was royally honked off at Meyerbeer and Offenbach for going to Paris and writing in French. Napoleon was still in living memory and the only thing that ever managed to unite 19th century Germany was that they didn't like the French. He picked Hermann Levi to conduct Parsifal and didn't seem to be antisemetic in his pesonal life, from anything I've been able to discover.
