W. J. Hunneman, a friend of Maelzel and an occasional director of the Turk, took up the task of recording of the vast number of games played by the automaton during this visit. These games were all played with odds of pawn and move, in which the King's Bishop's pawn (f7) was removed from the Turk's side of the board, and his opponent had the first move. All of the games were played by Jacques-Francois Mouret. -- Gerald M. Levitt, "The Turk, Chess Automaton", 2000.} g6 2. c3 e5 3. d4 Bg7 4. d5 d6 5. c4 Nf6 6. Nd2 O-O 7. Bd3 Na6 8. a3 Nh5 9.
