Oct-09-07  BIDMONFA: World Junior Championship (2007)

Round 7, leader Ahmed Adly 6 points

_

Oct-09-07  pawnofdoom: Strange. I've never heard of Adly before until today, when he suddenly appeared and won five(!) games in a row after starting offt he tournament with a loss. Poor Wesley lost on his birthday :(
Oct-09-07  Davolni: Hello everyone, please take a look at this game.!!!!

H Tamazyan vs L Gerzhoy, 2007

Oct-09-07  darth pawn: Aren't Carlsen and Karjakin juniors? Or do they not allow in players as strong as them?

As for the actual play, I think Adly might win after all. Never heard of him, but then again, I don't know much about any of these people. Wesley will have to work hard to catch up.

D.P.

Oct-10-07  hovik2003: 7th round over and with six more rounds to go and with crowded bunch of players on top of the table scoring 4.5 to 6.0 points, nobody can tell who is the winner. There is players like Adly(6.0) Laznicka(5.5) Rodshtein, Meier, Grigorian, Wang Hao, Wesley, Gopal, Stellwagon, Popov, Negi(5.0) Melkumian, Gupta, Pashikian, Kaplan, Jones, Amin, Andreikin, Ashwin(4.5). So you can put your bets on any of this players.
Oct-10-07  superuser171: when do round 8 games begin?!..i thought they were today; the official site isn't helpful enough...round 7 games aren't yet uploaded here.
Oct-10-07  OneArmedScissor: I'm gonna put my money on Stellwagon.
Oct-10-07  timhortons: everybody gonna push for a win....its a rat race...these well be exciting
Oct-10-07  Riverbeast: Who is the US representative here (just curious)?

I think Carlsen and Karjakin don't play in this tournament because it's beneath them - they're already Super GMs. They demand appearance fees, and they have nothing to gain and everything to lose by playing in a tournament like this.

Oct-10-07  zanshin: <Riverbeast> There are three US representatives, check here: http://chess-results.com/tnr8230.as...

Thanks for the site.

Oct-11-07  ahmadov: It is great to see Adly Ahmed leading the field... Hope he will win the championship...
Oct-11-07  chessmoron: I hope Laznicka 2614 can beat the Egyptian Adly tomorrow. If Adly wins tomorrow, he deserves to win.

Remember that 2 players from this tournament will be placed in the World Cup excluding the players (Adly, Wang Hao, etc.) who is already on the list of participant of the World Cup.

Oct-11-07  ahmadov: We will see...
Oct-11-07  adair10: <hovik2003> Do you know if there will be live transmission? Right now it shows previous round games
Oct-11-07  timhortons: unless the tournament didnt push through due to some reasons but it suppose to have results now...the armenian chess federation is not good enough in updating us
Oct-11-07  timhortons: http://chess-results.com/tnr8230.as...
Oct-11-07  superuser171: yes..the tournament coverage is very poor at the official site, even the photos are all from the first round..
Oct-11-07  plimko: Wow, Adly-Laznicka 1-0!
Oct-11-07  plimko: Wonderful mate by Adly!!
