fabelhaft: This is Paikidze’s first OTB event in three and a half years, since the US women championships in 2018. When she won that one she hadn’t played an OTB event in almost a year, so she hasn’t been particularly active the last almost five years.

suenteus po 147: Carissa Yip wins again after losing yesterday to bring her tied for first with Eswaran and Nemcova after six rounds. I've been enjoying watching the livestream from the St. Louis Chess Club of the US Championships. Seirawan and Ashley provide very entertaining and insightful commentary, and I especially like the simultaneous coverage of both events, giving them equal space and value. Wish I had had it back when I was a young'un!

suenteus po 147: <HeMateMe> Zatonskih won her game today, but in the post game interview she confessed that she hasn't been studying like she used to. Also, she confessed to not feeling well, though she acknowledged everyone says that when they lose. Hearing her speak today she clearly has an enjoyment of the game and analyzing positions. I hope she manages to find her form in the next five rounds.
