fabelhaft: In 1989, Galliamova played in the same tournament as Reshevsky, who had played guys born in the 1860s like Janowski and Mieses. Here she is facing some opponents born in the 2000s.

Reminds me of an anecdote by Bent Larsen before his O Bernstein vs Larsen, 1954 match:

"I remember that somebody said to me before the game: 'Young man, it must be interesting for you to play against Bernstein, who already in 1907 made up his mind to withdraw from chess!'"

Ossip Bernstein had played masters born in 1850 like Chigorin and Schiffers in his day.

Also brings to mind the "Morphy Number" game that we can play to see how many degrees we're removed from America's Pride and Sorrow of chess.

It is related to the "Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon" game: https://oracleofbacon.org/

My Morphy Number is 5, by-the-by.
