"Another encounter of a livelier nature, between Mr. Bird and Mr. Horwitz will, it is expected, be finished this week, their score up to the time of our writing being—Bird 2, Horwitz 2, Drawn 3."(1)

"M. Horwitz who has been for some time contending for the mastery with Mr. Bird, has, we believe, at length succeeded in placing his seventh, and, therefore, concluding game upon the score."(2)
