If it was not for Magnus, Grischuk may have been WCC. He's a powerful and accurate player.

Or maybe his big chance was thanks to Carlsen :-) When Carlsen refused to play the 2011 Candidates, Grischuk was given his place and he reached the final against Gelfand. After Carlsen took over, Grischuk has finished bottom half in the Candidates he qualified for.
