Introduction
It was decided to make a special effort to have a genuine hard tournament this winter, both to decide the relative merits of the players and to stimulate interest in the game and in the club. The entries for the city tournament are to be limited by the directors to a small number and the tournament will be played off by rounds, the rounds being played off on Saturday evenings through the months of November and December. A minor tournament will also be held. All chess players in the city are invited to compete in either tournament. Players may enter either for the major or minor event, but their qualifications for the major tournament will be passed on by the directors, and in case of difficulty in deciding eligibility, matches will be played off to determine the right to enter.

Visitors are welcome at any time and the club is open day and night. The city tournament begins Saturday, Oct. 18. (1)

Notes
The rounds reported by the press are: R1 Oct-18, R2 Oct-25, R3 Nov-1, R4 Nov-8, R5 Nov-15, and R6 Nov-22 before a total breakdown of the schedule. It appears an amalgam of pairings began to occur each Saturday as players began dropping out of the event with R8 reportedly occurring on Dec-1 but reports of R8 and R9 appear as late as Dec-22.
