Kibitzer's Corner
Apr-16-04  Taidanii: What was a 2281 player doing in this tournament?
Apr-16-04  PinkPanther: It looks to me like he was playing the Bird Opening, lol.
Apr-16-04  SADDAM: he is rich, that the only reason
Apr-16-04  SADDAM: hey oleg
Apr-16-04  Lawrence: "Waiter, what's that spider doing in my soup?" "I think it's trying to catch the fly, sir."
Apr-20-04  zorro: lol Lawrence
Apr-20-04  Kenkaku: <Taidanii> Losing.
Apr-23-04  Vischer: there was 2272 player who got eighth place
Apr-24-04  baseballboi12: how do u get in the chess games? i need to know
Apr-24-04  Dillinger: There are several shrinking modules, a list of them is available at Though you'll have to tell them in advance which piece you want to be as the default is pawn. You wouldn't want to be a pawn size king for example, that would only inspire ridicule.
Apr-28-04  midknightblue: The best thing about this website is mocking sorry looking 2200 players. The worst thing about online chess is repeatedly getting thoroughly pummeled by 2200 players.
Apr-28-04  midknightblue: Dillinger, I am not sure that baseballz meant for his statement to be taken quite so literally
Apr-28-04  Dillinger: Actually if I took his question literally, I would have suggested a time machine as well!
Apr-28-04  ruylopez900: When did the St.Petersburg Tournament drop off from being a supertournament? I know back in the day of Lasker and Capa it was big. (In fact wasn't it at this tournament the original GMs were given their titles?)
Apr-28-04  iron maiden: <ruylopez900> In 1914 Lasker, Capablanca and the other three St. Petersburg finalists were immediately proclaimed grandmasters by the organizers of the tournament, but there were no real "official" GM's until the days of FIDE.
Apr-29-04  ruylopez900: <Iron Maiden> Yes I know, the Russian Czar or leader or Comrade (whoever was in charge then) gave them their title. I just thought that such an important tournament (Back then) to have dwindled to less than a sideshow is pretty sad.
