Las Palmas (1974)

The 3rd Gran Torneo Internacional de Ajedrez «Ciudad Las Palmas de Gran Canaria» was played in the saloons of Hotel Santa Catalina in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria, Spain, from 15 April to 4 May 1974. Rest days: 18, 22, 26 and 30 April, and 3 May. Round 1 started at 4 pm, after a one minute silence in memory of last year's winner Leonid Stein. Tournament director: Pierre Joly Dumesnil. Chief arbiter: Harry Golombek.

Ljubojevic won with 11/15. Beliavsky and Garcia took GM norms. The "best game" award and also Isador Samuel Turover 's beauty prize went to Ljubojevic for Browne vs Ljubojevic, 1974.
