Kibitzer's Corner
Jun-11-05  superiorNOshow: I am suprised by Shirov's results. I expected at least above 6. Also looking forward to live chessgames coverage of Adams/Hydra match!!
Jun-11-05  cade: Shirov hasn't been quite himself lately.
Jun-11-05  fgh: How many points will Sokolov gain after this tournament?
Jun-11-05  iron maiden: Volokitin was the biggest disappointment, losing his first four games and eventually finishing -3. If this tournament is counted in time for the July list, he may lose his #1 junior spot to Radjabov. Nakamura won't be too far behind either.
Jun-11-05  stijn: according to the fide-site his next rating is going to be 2693, if they count this tournament he's going down big, 20 points or something
Jun-11-05  aw1988: Bologan and Sokolov won this; Sokolov is suprising, but Bologan is showing real promise. Expect to hear more of him.
Jun-11-05  MrSifter: <iron maiden> Volokitin is going to gain 13 points so far to his current massive rating of 2679. Even with this tournament he won't lose enough to lose his #1 spot.
Jun-11-05  iron maiden: <MrSifter>, don't be so sure. This is going to cost him a bunch of points--maybe over 20. And Radja was right behind him as it is.
Jun-13-05  VishyFan: <fgh> Sokolov will gain 16 ELO from this tournament

<iron maiden>In July list, ratings wud be Voloktin 2693, Radjabov 2682 and Nakamura wud be way behind at 2660...

<stijn><MrSifter> Voloktin is going to lose 22 ELO from this tournament...., but........

I think this tournament will be considered for october rating list........

Jun-13-05  csmath: <<Sokolov is suprising>>

Perhaps to you.
Sokolov is for in the elite for years, he won this tournament in 2003 (with Bareev, Shirov, Movsesian, Radjabov, and Kasim) and was +2 last year. Actually he is rightfully considered a favorite to win in Sarajevo, which I believe is his previous hometown.
