Las Palmas (1975) Also known as the 1st Ruy López Memorial, the 4th Gran Torneo Internacional de Ajedrez «Ciudad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria» was played in the saloons of Hotel Santa Catalina in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria, Spain, from 6-25 April 1975. Rest days: 9, 13, 17, 21 and 24 April. Chief arbiter: Antonio Angel Medina Garcia. Ljubomir Ljubojevic repeated the success from last year and won with 11/14. Mecking was 2nd on tiebreak. Best combination prize: Tal vs F Olafsson, 1975. Best endgame: Andersson vs Hort, 1975.
