Bremen (1927)

A tournament summary in Wiener Schach-Zeitung Nr. 11 (June 1927) (pp. 158-162) is online at http://anno.onb.ac.at/cgi-content/a... A congress was held on occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Bremen Schachgesellschaft and the 26th meeting of the Niederelbischer Schachbund. World championship challenger Efim Bogoljubov was invited, and did not disappoint. On 11 April, the day before the tournament started, he drew (1-1) a match against Oscar Antze, who had just won the Bremen SG winter tournament. There were also other events held at the congress, the main of which (Landes-Hauptturnier) was won by Herbert Heinicke.
