whiteshark: "The Hamburger Schachheim in the Cafe Kaiser-Galerie, had organized a chess week, 4 to 12 February 1911. The arrangement encompassed as far as Nimzowitsch was concerned, a match against Leonhardt as well as a simultaneous display. It was a convenient opportunity for Nimzowitsch to get some training against a strong opponent just prior to the tournament in San Sebastian. Leonhardt - also on his way to Spain - was one of the opponents he had to beat if he should have hopes of making it all the way to the top. In light of this, the result of the match must have been somewhat disappointing even though Nimzowitsch emphasized that the purpose of the match was to "test some new ideas" (Deutsches Wochenschach, 19 February 1911, p 69)"
