Credit Suisse Masters (1994)

Played at the Crédit Suisse Forum in Horgen (about 20 km south of Zürich), Switzerland, 3-15 September 1994. Rest days: 7 and 12 September. The event was sponsored by Dr. William Wirth, Chairman of the board of directors of the Crédit Suisse Bank. Play started each day at 2:30 pm. Tournament category: XVI (2645). Free entrance for spectators. The main attractions were Kasparov, who had recently been knocked out by a computer in London (Kasparov vs Chess Genius, 1994), and Leko, who turned 15 on the day of Round 5.

World champion Garry Kasparov won with 8.5/11.
