Yes Sir, I am from the east alright...it was evident from the fact that I was in the knowledge in the forthcoming of Wesley...the chess messiah, and that I knew of his advent by the brilliant games he displayed in the very eyes of believers and non believers alike...and that Sir is the truth and nothing but the....

Hmmmmm.....Where the heck is Magnus??? Is he avoiding Wesley?

You tell me.

Mar-16-17  chessalem: < Mr.Prospero Pichay, who has helped me a lot>

now it can be told...straight from the veggies mouth...his past actions were intended for his own glorification...now he claims credit for Wesley's no. 2 position in the world...he may be right after all...wesley left NCFP because of his abandonment of Wesley at the time he needed him most...(he only needs to write a letter of recommendation to Babalu to officially recognize Wesley's universiade exploit...which he did not..the main reason why Wesley moved to the USCF...the change of habitat did well to catapult Wesley to no. 2 spot...Kudos to pichay for his non action...he deserves a medal- i.e. a rope to hang around his neck.

In other news, Wesley scored 4-0 against his former Webster teammates to move his team to the semi finals of the pro chess league...See his games here:https://www.chess.com/member/gmwesl...

cro777: Will Wesley So really shine this year?

According to Frank 'Boy' Pestaño, "most experts don't expect Wesley So to continue his unprecedented no loss performance in 60 games against elite players this year".

Mar-16-17  chessalem: <Wesley scored 4-0 >

that brings his total score to 26 out of 28 in the pro chess league or a rating performance that is off the chart.

May-01-17  The Boomerang: " chessalem: A legend was reduced to an amateur by his own admission: Kasparov tweeted: "My game against Wesley reminded me of a game of Morphy vs an amateur...I was the amateur""

Bit of tongue i cheek from Garry. Out of practice Garry who easily got 2 winning positions against So and blundered one away. And yes that win was nice but a bit overrated.

May-01-17  The Boomerang: "Hmmmmm.....Where the heck is Magnus??? Is he avoiding Wesley?

You tell me."

No need for Magnus when his client handled SO nicely lol...

Yeah he's avoiding SO like the plague...given all his losses to SO...

May-01-17  The Boomerang: " chessalem: <know the story> the family favors education over chess.

Q: So did you talk to Wesley about becoming a full time professional chess player?

LS: Yes, but only after he graduates from Webster University. We had hoped it did not mean that he would give up his education. No matter how good he is as a chess professional, it cannot replace education and a university degree. All of us encouraged him to stay in school. He still has so much to learn.

http://www.chessdom.com/interview-w...

Wesley would prefer chess over education.

Lotis Key and her husband, Renato Kabigting, took So, a 21-year-old Filipino, into their home last October after So decided to drop out of Webster University in suburban St. Louis, where he had a chess scholarship. He had just won the $100,000 first prize at the inaugural Millionaire Chess Open, and he wanted to pursue a chess career full time.

The decision to drop out did not sit well with So’s mother, with whom he’s had a difficult relationship since at least his midteens, when his parents and siblings moved from the Philippines to Canada. So stayed behind.

According to Key, So’s mother and aunt came to St. Louis and contacted So minutes after his arrival at a hotel. Key said they began, in strident encounters over the course of several days, to insist that he return to college or face losing complete contact with his family, including his sisters. At one point, So’s mother and aunt confronted him outside the chess club after his game, trying to grab his arm and yelling at him when he wouldn’t go with them to talk, according to Key and So. That led to an apology by So to the club for the scene, and a request that the mother and aunt be banned from the tournament site."

Absolutely appaling...you would think he was joining a motorcycle gang the way she was carring on.

Let the guy live his life.

Must be an impostor--a computer had to have ginned up those moves which despatched the world number two in short order.

Oct-19-17  diagonal: <Two five-time winners in Tata Steel Masters in 80th edition in 2018:

World Champion Magnus Carlsen, and former World Champions Viswanathan Anand and Vladimir Kramnik as well as Hou Yifan will participate in the Tata Steel Chess Tournament 2018.

Both Carlsen and Anand have won the Tata Steel Chess Tournament a record five times. They will face Wesley So (the title defender from TATA Steel 2017), Fabiano Caruana, Sergey Karjakin, Shakhryar Mamedyarov, Anish Giri or Gawain Jones who has been promoted from the Tata Steel Challengers, which he won this year in Wijk aan Zee.
