AylerKupp: <JimNorCal> I nominate <BigPawn> to be the bubbly upbeat person to be the voice of CG.

  perfidious: Seconded. (rolls eyes)
Aug-15-18  JimNorCal: Consider <offramp>, for example. He's pretty upbeat and DF seems to have been relentlessly upbeat. <off ramp>, I would say, is too frivolous for the job but he's an example to keep top of mind while choosing.

offramp: Thank you <JimNorCal> and your supporters!

I have decided to accept the position of spokesman for <cg.com> on this, the day of my daughter's wedding.

I have called a press conference for 7am tomorrow at the back of Thomas Jefferson's skull in South Dakota.

The first item to be discussed is the gradual winding down of <cg.com> from about two seconds ago to August 16th 2035. That should do it.

I have also created a list of ten members who are to be permanently banned from this site.

<IF YOU THINK YOU ARE ON> this list then you must tell me <NOW>.

I have one of those boards with drawing pins and bits of string, and you will help my investigation if you admit that you are a nutcase right now.

If you reply within the next fifteen minutes you could recieive a 25% discount.

AylerKupp: <offramp> I think that everyone will readily agree that I'm a nutcase so there's no reason for me to admit it. After all, who would believe me if I denied it?

But is receiving a 25% discount to visit a free site all that good of a deal?

offramp: <AylerKupp>, thank you, but you were not in the top 10 of my list.

However, owing to your admission, should you ever stray into that top 10 then you will be banned not <for Life>, but for life minus 25%.

This is great! It's like being Stalin in charge of the Doctor's Plot!

Aug-16-18  JimNorCal: I rest my case. Actually, I rest all my cases.
Aug-16-18  morfishine: I rest my case

...of beer right beside my fridge

Aug-16-18  john barleycorn: <morfishine: I rest my case ...> R.I.P.

<The account <john barleycorn> has received a kibitzing suspension for 2 hours due to the following post:

<john barleycorn: ...

<morfishine> is a professional numb skull.>

REASON: Leave poor morfishine alone please. He can't take the heat.>

perfidious: Life less 25 per cent.

Dang, Ah'm ready to face the executioner.

Aug-16-18  JimNorCal: <jbc>: (plays at being mean)

My understanding is that morf is more resilient now. Are you trying to start a fight? Consider taking it to a forum or other non chess page.

Why not address <morfishine>?

AylerKupp: <offramp> Thank you for the notice. I have set my cell phone to send me an alert that I have strayed into your top 10 so that I can accelerate my enjoyment of life. Alas, I'm afraid I might have already exceeded my alloted 75%.

But that's not too bad. One life down, 8 more to go. As I said earlier, Meow!

Aug-17-18  BOSTER: Classical Sinquefield Cup with prize fund $300.000 will begin August 18, Round 1. Carlsen supposed to play. It will be great to see Live on <CG>.
Aug-19-18  JimNorCal: Wow!
While I wasn't looking there were some changes in the <Live Game> situation.

Biel 2018 still claims to have 31 games when there should be 30. The extra game is invalid. It is labeled Carlsen vs Svidler but the moves WERE Carlsen vs NicoG from the last round of Biel 2018.

The games is STILL labeled MC vs Svidler BUT it is now pointing at MVL vs Carlsen from round 1 of Sinquefield. Nice to see change and what "feels" like an improvement. Good luck <Sargon>.

Yorkshire Fog: <JimNorCal: ..some changes in Live Game situation> Great catch, Jim! <Sargon> has said the Live Game is a top priority for him, and it looks like there is some progress in this area. This is really good news.

  perfidious: Excellent.
Aug-20-18  BOSTER: In St. Louis.
Round 1.
Mamed 1-SO 0,
Aronian 1-Karjakin 0.
Rest games draw.
Round 2.
Carlsen1- Karjakin 0.
Rest games draw. Round 3 is still playing.
Aug-20-18  CowChewCud: Why isn't Sinquefield being covered on Chessgames?
Aug-20-18  zanzibar: <CowChewCud> see these notices about <Daniel Freeman>'s death:

Daniel Freeman (kibitz #274)

Daniel Freeman (kibitz #288)

<Sargon> is still coming to grips with the massive job of managing <CG>, which includes adding new tournaments.

Tabanus: Carlsen and Svidler still have 11 games.
Aug-29-18  JimNorCal: I'll post a Correction slip. Hopefully there is a "to do" list it can be added to.
