Staunton Memorial (2004)

The 2nd Howard Staunton Memorial Tournament was a 4-player double round robin held at Simpsons-in-the-Strand, London, 23-29 August 2004. Rest day: August 26. Prize fund: £2500, with £1500 to the winner. Play started each day at 2 pm. Time control: 120 minutes for the first 40 moves, then 60 more minutes for the rest of the game. Chief organizer: Raymond Keene.

Daniel John King won on tiebreak ahead of Speelman, both with 4/6.
