This tournament marked Bobby Fischer's fourth straight title as US Champion. It was also a zonal tournament.

Not all games from this tournament are currently available, and only 15 of the 66 games are on the http://www.chessgames.com database as of today (April 20, 2008): all of Fischer's games, plus four others.
