Hastings 1931/32

The twelfth Hastings Christmas Congress, held from December 28 1931-January 6, 1932, marked the beginning of Flohr's streak of three victories in a row. This time, the competition consisted of:

Max Euwe, Salomon Flohr, Edward Mackenzie Jackson, Isaac Kashdan, Vera Menchik, Reginald Pryce Michell, Gosta Stoltz, Mir Sultan Khan, George Alan Thomas, Fred Dewhirst Yates.

Flohr and Kashdan dominated the proceedings; by round 2, they already were a full point clear of the field. They drew in round 3, then it was a race to the finish. Kashdan took the lead briefly in round 4, but Flohr won his last five games and the American was not able to keep up in the last round.
