Games That Changed My Chess Life
Compiled by RookedFileFan

I'm getting to be an old man. My kids say I'm not that old, but when you have been playing chess almost as long as you have been alive than that's a long time. For me it's fifty years playing and I'm fifty five years old. These are the games that made an impression on me. Good, bad, a little of both. Like all players that got addicted to this game I had my dreams and passions. I never progressed past 1500. But these are the games that made me go "Wow". Most American started at the altar of Morphy or Fischer. Me? The first chess book I ever got was Fred Reinfelds book on Laskers Collected games. I saw the two bishop sacrifice against Bauer and I swear I never looked back. Reshevsky got his butt handed to him by Bottvinnik for thirty moves. Crushed in every way imaginable by one of the greatest of the great Russian players. Then Bottvinnik stumbles. How Reshevsky psychologically picks himself off the floor to kick Bottvinnik arse I still don't know. Euwe plays the game of his life and wins the Worlds Championship against Alekhine. Fischer and Tal battle each other with sledgehammers in 1961. I could go one. I'm selfish. Like them or not these are my favorites. The games that I will go to the grave playing over and over again.
