Bykova started and finished the match with the black pieces, according to the kibitzing. Bykova successfully defended her title in 13 games. [ * K Zvorykina vs E Bykova, 1959 (kibitz #2) and below suggests that the match went from 1959 and onwards into 1960 at Moscow, Russia. This was played in the Christmas break between December 4th and January 4th. | 13 games, 1959 - 1960 Canadian open
1 game, 1960 - 1960 Koltanowski 56-board blindfold-simul
Held at San Francisco, USA, 4th of December, 1956 by Georges Koltanowski - columnist and age 57, in which he received a blindfold and the white pieces in a simul against (some of) the following players (ordered by the amount of moves in which the opponents lasted). 29 out of his 56 total games (all but one were wins; he scored +50-0=6 overall) are present here. The wikipedia article below suggests that the blindfold games were played consecutively (or the version of their story on 26 March, 2015), giving each player 10 seconds/move. In some cases, the names of the players of the black pieces were only given partially, and might be awaiting correction slip revisions. [References: (1) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George... ]

| 29 games, 1960 - 1961 (women's) candidate tournament
<under construction> Held at Vrnjacka Banja from October until November. 17 players total, ((17-1)/2) x 16 games = 128 total games played (since each player received a bye in one of 17 rounds). Nona Gaprindashvili won with 13/16 points, 2 points ahead of Valentina Borisenko who finished in 2nd overall. The winner would move on to face Elisaveta Bykova at the Game Collection: 1962 World (women) chess championship event. Update: As per 1 August 2015, all player ids were checked in this database, and added to this collection, making for a little bit more than 25% of the total games present.

| 11 games, 1962 - 1963 Canadian championship
5 games, 1963 - 1963 Capablanca memorial
<under construction> Held at Cuba, which started at the end of August (commenced on the 25th), but many rounds were played until September 25th as well. Please see the excellent Game Collection: Tal at the Capablanca Memorial 1963 as well for more information here about <Tal's> specific result. 21 rounds x ((21-1)(players/round -> 1 should have a bye each round with an odd number of players <- Tal's name shows up 21 times below, for instance))/2 = 21 rounds x 10 players/round => ~210 total games should exist (or was it 21 rounds and 22 players, still having 10 (or maybe 11?!) players/round => 210+10 games for another round => implies about 225 games, max, probably). Total number of expected games of 210-225 games needs to be checked later on, assuming nobody withdrew nor took any other unforced byes. 89/225 total games present implies that this collection is about 40% full. If a person uses <ctrl+f> (to find instances of the word "Tal" here on the page, then goes 1 by 1 through his opponents' names list - via the gid highlights through ctrl+f), one can cross-check that many of these games were checked for all ~21 or 22 pid names, looking for pgn with "Capablanca" or "memorial" or similar (not necessarily seeking just "?" or "Havana" or Cuba in the event/site combo fields - some other 1960s important international events included the Cuban Olympiad, with similar pgn labels on those fields, so it could be probable that in the same year, a city championship and/or distinct national championship could have the same event/site names, for a year - were they also played between Dec-Jan break, when a year field might also change? - I don't trust the pgn enough much here..) in the pgns which matched 1963. If one does also check that the other games for Havana 1963 (with currently - as per 6 September 2015 checking in this database - <that> info <and> nothing else), and can confirm that they can be added, then please contact Biographer Bistro and a Biographer might be able to confirm the necessary changes to those other such pgn in the event/site/fields). Also, a more exact (confirmed) date range or tournament schedule for this tournament could be useful to write the biography (or let us know if other details pop out from other year's worth of previous kibitzes on the individual gid pages at the Biographer bistro). Thank you.
Other (possible) games to be added later: J Broderman vs Letelier, 1963 , J Broderman vs F J Perez, 1963 , R Ortega vs J Broderman, 1963 , J Broderman vs Pachman, 1963 , B De Greiff vs J Broderman, 1963 , Korchnoi vs J Broderman, 1963 , I Calero vs J Broderman, 1963 , E Jimenez Zerquera vs J Broderman, 1963 , G Garcia vs J Broderman, 1963 , Geller vs J Broderman, 1963 , E Cobo Arteaga vs J Broderman, 1963 , J Broderman vs R G Wade, 1963 , etc (they need to be checked to see that they are part of <this> tournament, and not just any old tournament game played in Cuba). 229 games, 1964 - 1964 Fischer simul exhibition tour
<under construction> In January of the new year, the only other Bobby Fischer game to appear in the database had been A Saidy vs Fischer, 1964 - played as Auld Lang Syne welcomed 1964 in with the US Championship (1963/64) finishing with a stunning clean-sweep, and the 6th title for the exhibition of the win. The attempt in this collection is to primarily arrange his games by a date played in each city, and to then perhaps order them by result. February

Perhaps some information can be tracked down on the player [bad player ID] - or at least where/when the game Fischer vs J Rubens, 1964 was played. Fischer vs M Bedford, 1964 seems to be related to his week or so stay in California, and perhaps more details (where/when) of it exist as well. Fischer vs J Wallace, 1964 (kibitz #4) has provided a few details about the history of the tour (see other posts around this time by User: TheFocus as well), including the Denver portion (see http://billpriceweb.com/fischer.html and the other Denver games) of the trip, along with other stops along the legs. Hopefully the dates are somewhat accurate, as some of the pgn content had dates updated, missing (in some of the cases) or corrected, and there doesn't seem to be much reason to seriously doubt the reported total scores for each city as well. Consideration had also been given to splitting the collection into cities (like the Game Collection: 1960 Koltanowski 56-board blindfold-simul performance, but which <does> have 29/64 games present), but it might be more interesting to see the simul games of this year collected by year, rather than by city. http://www.amazon.ca/Legend-Road-Fi... by William John Donaldson is bound to have much more information.
