  wwall: Instead of 44.Rb8+, perhaps White can draw with 44.Kb4 Re5 [44...Rc4+ 45.Kxb5 Rxh4 46.Kxb5 Rxh4 47.Kc6 Rd4 48.Rb8+] 45.Ka5 Re4 46.Kxb5 Rxh4 47.Kc6 Rd4 48.Rb8+ Kg7 49.Rb7+

After 44.Rb8+ Ke7, instead of 45.Rb7+, better may be 45.Kb4 and perhaps White can draw.

Honza Cervenka: <wwall> 44.Kb4 Rd5 45.Ka5 e5 is probably sufficient for a win of black.
Feb-27-20  asiduodiego: From an strategic point of view, this is a good example of a "Bad Bishop" vs Knight endgame. Von Bardeleben obtains the Bishop pair, but then he closed the center with 13 c5?, thus rendering half of his Bishops completely useless. Then he traded his other Bishop, he remained the rest of the game with that thing barely able to move, which allowed Winawer to infiltrate and then obtain decisive material advantage.
