Kibitzer's Corner
Apr-24-06  jmelton: First kibitz for this game. Alekhine totally dominates Duras, who was a pretty fair player with some brilliant games of his own.
Apr-24-06  Calli: Hard to believe that Duras played 24.Bc7? Instead 24.Rxd8 Rxd8 first then 25.Bc7 Re8 looks good fo White. He may have thought 25...Rd2 26.Qxe6+ Kf8 was bad, but 27.g3 looks okay to me.

  Gypsy: Duras' monograph gives 1911 as the year of his biggest competetive crisis. In Carlsbad, 1911 he played some classic games, but also had some outright disasters. Top 12 (of 26) players divided the Carlsbad prizes; they came in the following order:

1. Teichmann 2-3. Schlechter Rubinstein 4.Rotlewi 5-6. Marshall Nimzowich 7.Vidmar 8-11. Duras Alekhine Tartakower Leonhardt 12.Spielmann.

May-09-17  cwcarlson: 28.♘e3? ♗c5 ; 28.♗d6!=
