Sep-12-06  Whitehat1963: Here's a Monday puzzle after 53...Kc5. I'm back!
Jan-21-07  wolfmaster: Saint Amant resigns only when it's a completely hopeless position for him. That's what I like about him.
Mar-07-08  Knight13: 44...Qc6 = lol for a world's #2 player.
Mar-07-08  mistreaver: This may be the pioneer taimanov sicilian ever played

keypusher: ...and a devilish bad game, as Morphy might say.
Feb-05-12  Knight13: <keypusher: ...and a devilish bad game, as Morphy might say.> Hey, at least Saint Amant learned well from his embarassing, inaccurate opening play from Game 8 of the match, two games earlier: Staunton vs Saint Amant, 1843.

brankat: For a game played 170 years ago I find the treatment of this Sicilian line surprisingly "modern"!
Dec-06-13  poorthylacine: Devilish beautiful and fine, would I say.
But Morphy did not like the closed games and would maybe have pointed the game 14 as a good example of the ugly style of Staunton!
