Dec-17-05  OJC: It is interesting how Staunton's attack fizzled out in this game.

He missed 30. Ra7 which looks winning and instead played the less threatening 30. Rab1.

After 39. Rxc8+ Qxc8 it is Staunton who has to struggle to draw.

Aug-06-13  Babes: OJC - I agree that 30. Ra7 looks like a win. Perhaps Staunton looked at 30. Ra7 Rb8 31. Bxc6+ Qxc6 32. Rb6 Qc8 33. c6+ Kd8 and missed 34. Qb2?
