Feb-18-04  drukenknight: This beuaty is the closest game to the Ponziani miniature I posted. Hor. went for the prosaic 9 Nf3 while I went for the insane 9 Qh5+
Feb-18-04  square dance: <dk> what was the continuation after 9.Qh5+ in your game?
Feb-19-04  drukenknight: square dance: Here it is:

1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.c3 Bc5 4.b4 Bb6 5.b5 Nb8 6.Nxe5 Qe7 7.d4 d6 8.Ba3 f6 9. Qh5+ Kf8 (hmm maybe g6) 10 Ng6+ hxg6 11 Qxh8 Qxe4+ 12 Be2 Qxg2 13 Rf1 Bh3 (one good B move to a3 deserves another)14 Nd2 Nd7 15 000 Kf7 16 Bf3 Qxh2 17 Bxb7 Rb8 18 Bc6 Nf8 and blacks game collapsed a few moves later.

Dec-30-04  Knight13: Harrwitz learned that playing 5... Nb8 is better because of what happend in this game: Horwitz vs Harrwitz, 1846. In my opinion, I think 5... Ne7 is better, followed by 6... Ng6.
