Kibitzer's Corner
Feb-02-04  TheTurk: 17 bc7 is a beautiful move. black has doesnt see the coming queen trap with his queens retreat to e7. the lesser of the two evils is 17. ...Rxe4 18. Qxe4 Qxc7 19. Qxa8 and black is down 2 exchanges as opposed to a whole peice.
Feb-02-04  TheTurk: and it ends with a nice simple forced corridor.
Jul-27-09  Knight13: And black never bothered to play ...d6 and consolidate his position. And the knight is misplaced on g6. ...Nf6 was better choice, but after ...d6 (and follow up with ...e5 if needed) of course.

plang: 4..Ne5 looks weak - I think Black is much worse after that. Missed 17 Bc7? - my choice was 17 Rd6 which still looks promising after 17..Be7 18 f6.
Mar-02-14  LIFE Master AJ: Very well played by Anderssen ... this looks like a modern master playing chess.
Mar-02-14  john barleycorn: Anderssen's "most beautiful defeat" in this tournament.

Anderssen vs Wyvill, 1851

Jul-05-18  The Kings Domain: Nice aggressive game by Anderssen in this historic match.
Dec-22-18  Cibator: Wyvill's response on collecting that back-rank sucker-punch was reputedly of a rather coarse nature. But the official record, like Marmaduke himself, has been bowdlerised.
