tpstar: 16 ... g5?! was ill-advised as Black's Kingside light squares were left weak and Blackburne patiently exploited them.

32. d5 is a trap which at first seems to work due to 32 ... cxd5 33. exd5 Bxd5 34. Bxg6+ Kxg6 35. Qd3+ forking the Bd5, yet Black has 35 ... e4. So I think the intent was 34. Nxg5+! hxg5 35. Qh5+ & 36. Qxg6+, or 34 ... Qxg5 35. Rxf8. Black could always decline the sacrifice with 34 ... Kg7.

46 ... Kf8 47. Qg7+ Ke8 48. Qg8+ Kd7 49. Qxf7+ wins a piece.
