Kibitzer's Corner
Dec-14-07  staplerman: Is "F Fischer" related to Bobby? Anyone know?
Dec-14-07  Karpova: "Fischer" is such a common name that it's pretty unlikely.
Apr-26-10  hankm: d3 seems like such a passive way to deal with Alekhine's defence... It locks in the bishop and lets black get away with a very agressive move.
Sep-26-19  mulde: First of all, in my eyes Felix Fischer should be noted as the White player as mentioned in many other comments on this site. He was the Fisherman in Vienna 1923. More than this, his arrangement is a highly flexible one. White's position after move 3 can be reached in an Alekhine as well as in an Alapin-Sicilian. So you can get two for the price of one at least. It can be converted into a KIA if White decides to go for g3/Bg2 like it was in an early game: Chaprazov,I - Karastoichev,E Sofia 1960, ½-½ (40) Early? Well, you might not find too many games with c3/d3 against -c5/-Nf6 before the sixties. Whatever: It would be nice to replace F.Fischer by Felix Fischer at least in every Vienna 1923 notation. And, by the way, unfortunately in this game the opening has nothing to do with Maróczy which requires a structure with a pawn on c4.
