Kibitzer's Corner
Nov-27-14  Trontron: saw the position after 35. .. Qxe4 as a tactical exercise and the solution was 36. Rg8+ Nxg8 37. Qg7#

But why 36. .. Nxg8 ?
Of course also not 36. .. Kxg8 (37. Qxe8#)

But doesn´t black get out of mate after
36. .. Kf7
37. Qxe8+ Ke6
38. Qxe7+ (38. .. Kxf5 39. Qd7+ Kf4 40. Qg4#) Kd5
39. Ne3+ Kc6

?

Or do i miss sth ?
And why did black resign after 36. Ng7 ?
Isn´t 37. Qxe8# the only threat ? then why not 36. .. Qc6

?

thanks in advance
